Sherry was once a soldier for the corrupt umbrella corporation Charon Industries. She and her two compatriots, Darryl and Terrill, were regarded as three of the worst soldiers in their unit. She possesses a good judge of character by reading body language.

• Sherry is gay, as confirmed by Shannon McCormick.
• When she introduces her team to the Freelancers, she says, "My name's Sherry. This is my partner Darryl. This is my other partner Terrill." This is a reference to the 1980s television sitcom Newhart which featured three backwoods brothers: Larry, Darryl, and Darryl. Every time they appeared at the inn which was the main setting of the show, Larry would always introduce them, regardless of whether everyone already knew them or not: "I'm Larry. This is my brother Darryl. This is my other brother Darryl."
