Plot[]
In a flashback we hear several doctors explaining to West about the dangerous procedure they will perform on a very young East, whom of which is fearful. West tells them to do it, simply wanting his daughter to survive. We also hear the voices of Axel and Zero, who protest West's actions in concern. As East grows more afraid, West tells her not to struggle, while the doctors begin the operation.
In the present-day, we hear doctors attempting to resuscitate Tucker as he flatlines. They are successful, as Tucker awakens in a hospital room accompanied by his old friends Washington and Carolina. Glad to see that he's okay, Wash tells Tucker that he could have died if the doctors didn't recover him in time with their technology. Tucker, however, becomes extremely upset over the loss of his sword, claiming that he's "half a man" now. Wash laughs, having missed Tucker's antics.
Elsewhere in the base, Raymond fails to repair a piece of equipment and mopes, still saddened over the loss of East. As One tries to comfort him, Ray explains that he was aware of East's condition when he first saw her flickering, having discovered it in old GLASS files. She is a "Holo-Echo" - a solid-like clone made from a fragment of one's personality. As One encourages Ray to stop moping, Axel enters and tells the two to come with him.
Axel, Raymond, One, and Carolina listen to a furious West going ballistic behind a room, expressing his guilt for having failed East/Phase. The others explain to him that they want to help East and plead for him to come out and talk to them. Eventually, West faces them and explains what he did to East when she was young. According to West, everything began with GLASS, a special ops program, similar to Project Freelancer, developed to win The Great War through espionage and science. The program started the first Shatter Squad and attempted to secure a second with Zero, codenamed "One" at the time, as its leader. Unfortunately the program was unable to and was later shut down following the war's end. Feeling betrayed, Zero wanted to prove that he was powerful and enlisted Phase to his syndicate. West then reveals that East nearly died from a worsening disease when she was a little girl. He sought the help of Starlight Laboratories to save her, which they did through alien experimentation. Axel adds that East ran away a few years back and eventually joined Viper.
At the final temple, Viper stand at the entrance. Zero and Phase, who now controls Tucker's sword, use their keys to successfully gain access. Back at the base, Tiny delivers a message from Zero to Shatter Squad. In the message, Zero taunts the team, stating he's opened the final temple and sends them his coordinates. One jumps into action but the rest of the group stay put, unconfident in their abilities to stop Viper. One reminds them that Zero is just one man and encourages them in a speech to keep fighting to save East. Now uplifted and determined, Shatter Squad upgrade their weapons and armor and leave to stop Viper.

Trivia[]
- West's real name is revealed to be Bruce.
- This is the only episode in the season not to feature any fight scenes.
- In The Chorus Trilogy, it was revealed that killing the sword's wielder was the only way to gain control of the sword. Considering Tucker survived the assault, it is likely he was clinically dead for a time.
- Zero's own email address "ZeroPWNs@69.RVB" indirectly breaks the fourth wall, referencing the series as a whole. Tiny comments on this by saying the email is retro.
- One's speech to Carolina and the rest of Shatter Squad when trying to convince them to help her stop Zero and save East is similar to the speeches made by Sarge in Rally Cap and Reckless.
- The upgraded rifle Raymond has near the end is similar in appearance to the real life FN-P90 sub-machine gun.
