Master Chief is a well known soldier of the UNSC though is only mentioned scarcely throughout the series. Master Chief is a key figure of The Great War, helping humanity survive against an enemy alien race.
Role in Plot[]
While talking with Simmons in Blood Gulch, Grif mentions that Master Chief "blew up an entire Covenant armada".
Much later, in the episode Retention Deficit, as Epsilon tries to figure out how to gain control of his Monitor, he stumbles upon footage of Chief getting shot by 343 Guilty Spark's laser. Realizing that Spark shares the same Monitor body as him, Epsilon then attempts to activate his own laser.
Trivia[]
- Master Chief has only physically appeared in Build a Better Blood Gulch, a special episode made to promote his inclusion in the video game Fortnite, though he does not speak. In the actual series, he was offhandedly mentioned in Why Are We Here? and briefly appeared in Retention Deficit through archival footage from Halo 3.
- Ironically, the Master Chief was never machinimated within the Halo engine, only appearing in the Unreal Engine through the Fortnite promotion.
