The Light Rifle is a weapon that fires beams of hard light particles. This advance alien-human hybrid weapon first appears in Self Assessment, being primarily used by the Space Pirates.

- Space Pirates: After Felix and Locus are payed by the two Chorus factions in alien artifacts, they bring the weapons to Control to repair them before the Space Pirates can use them. In Cloak and Dagger, some Space Pirates use light rifles to kill the inhabitants of F.A.C. Outpost 37.
- Jackson: Jackson is the first named character shown to use the light rifle, carrying it in Self Assessment. Although he's not shown using his light rifle, it's implied to be Jackson's preferred weapon as it's the only weapon he carries.
- Simmons: In Fed vs. New, Simmons is shown briefly using a light rifle to disable the radio jammer at Radio Jammer Station 1C, along with the rest of the Blood Gulch Crew, in order to contact the New Republic and Federal Army of Chorus. He then uses it to hold Felix at gunpoint when the latter attempts to kill Tucker.
- Dr. Grey: In Fed vs. New, Grey briefly uses a light rifle to disable the radio jammer, along with the Reds and Blues, to inform the Chorus factions of the Space Pirates involvement in the Civil War.
