- The title of this PSA was originally "Put Your Money Where Your Mouse Is" on the Rooster Teeth website before it was released on YouTube as "Internet Petitions". After its release on YouTube, the name was changed on the website.
- The original title was a reference to the phrase "Put your money where your mouth is".
- It may also be a reference to the song of the same name by Jet.

- Simmons states he was rewriting the script for Star Wars: The Last Jedi inside of Red Base. This possibly references the poor reception the film received from fans.
- This PSA features cameos from several characters who have been absent for an extended period of time, including:
- Sheila since season 10. In addition, she appears as a tank for the first time since season 5.
- Junior since The End is Near. At the same time, he's small like he was in season 5.

- The crowd that signed Grif's petition for Simmons to shut up are as follows:
- Sarge states that they were promised that after the petition succeeded, they would make a reboot of Avatar, but with red aliens and twice the Unobtanium. This references the reveal trailer for the 2009 film's sequel Avatar: The Way of Water.
- The name of the fake Call of Duty game in a fake petition Simmons shows is "Call of Duty: Advanced Modern Black Op Wars IIII (in the future)" which is a reference to numerous Call of Duty titles including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII.
- During Sarge's rant about petitions, he mentions Juan Wick, a supposed Cuban brother of John Wick. This may be a reference to the Juan Wick meme originating in John Wick.
- He also makes a petition to decide on an actor for a new Batman movie, referencing the numerous actors who played the role of Batman.
