Role in PlotEdit
The Hospital first appears in Chorus Lessons when Jax Jonez is admitted to the Hospital after being shot by Dylan Andrews so she could use it as an excuse to talk to Dr. Emily Grey so she can track down Kimball. After initial hostility due to mistrust of the press, Grey tells Dylan where Kimball is to where she soon follows. Jax recovers from his injury and is dismissed, he then returns to Dylan.
After Washington's injury he is anonymously dropped off by Locus at the Hospital. Due to the severity of his injury and the resulting psychological damage, he is left in the care of Dr. Grey for a full year. During this period, Carolina eventually returns to Chorus to help Wash's recovery. After seeing him struggle mentally, she consults with Dr. Grey while she performs an autopsy. She tells him she diagnosed him with Cerebral Hypoxia, and will take a long period of time to recover from it, if at all. Carolina eventually leaves Chorus after learning the Reds and Blues are in trouble while Washington (much to Carolina's reluctance) goes with her, without Dr. Grey's knowledge.
After the Paradox occurs in an attempt to prevent Washington's injury, Washington is stuck in a purgatory where he both was and wasn't shot. He goes to the Hospital asking for treating for a neck injury, however Grey and the other doctors found no evidence of such injury. Dr. Grey eventually uses the Washington situation to do an insurance fraud scheme, getting a lot of compensation money from the UNSC that is used to build a new wing. When the paradox is reverted, Washington returns to the hospital for further treatment, this time under the care of Doc.
