<p>Could the Meta actually be alive now since his helmet appears in the season finale. Seeing that he was last seen with his helmet on, they must've recovered his body too. But where is it?

<p>About Locus being Maine, Locus' voice DOES sound strange and rough. Also, Felix said he was a freelancer in season 11, so Locus may be as well. Maine and Wash did work for the Chairman in season 7 and 8, but there was no official "breaking off" from him by Maine.

<p>As Felix explained he is a freelance soldier, a mercenary, not a Freelancer from the project (as if he was he would have been riddled with bullets by now). Also, Locus' voice is rough but it's closer to that of the stereotypical villain whereas Maine's voice was simply very deep and then non-existant after several bullet wounds to the throat (6 magnum shots) so even if Maine was Locus he would not be able to speak, also, using a voice modifyer would work... if he had a voice to begin with, so no, Maine is not Locus. Maine didn't officially leave the Chairman's workforce, he absorbed the last AI and used it to unofficially betray him before being given his severage package via pulled of cliff by two tun truck </p>

<p>I agree with the theory that Locus wants Meta's helmet because of the armor enhancements just like the time when Tex took Wyoming's helmet because of his time-distortion unit. I already explained this situation in the "Locus is Maine" conversation.

<p>I'm more into the "Chairman wants the Meta's helmet for a trophy" theory. He owns a weapon manufacturing industry, and keeping relics of Project Freelancer would make him more powerful in business. I would want armor like that to show off.

<p>Yes but why keep it as a simple trophy? His armor is the most damage resistant in the whole series, the best built and probably the most advanced, Carolina's armor doesn't even hold a dim match to the sun that is maine's armor. More compelling is that Maine's armor survived even the most dangerous of situations (from EMP's to bullets to stabbings, to more bullets, to crushings, explosive damage, etc) while most of the SPARTAN armor units everyone else (including the more advanced merc's) fails under more than two thirds of these situations, owning just the helmet could allow them to reverse-engineer the helmet and get started on building super soldier armor for their already super soldiers </p>

<p>Also, simply a trophy when it's been an end-of-season bonus twice now would just be anticlimactic.
